We've been having a telephne solicitor call every other morning or so for the past two weeks at 8:45 am, trying to sell us magazines. So the phone rang this morning again around that time, and I answered it "DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?" and the woman said nothing, and I said "Please don't call here before 10am.

The phone rang again and I answered it, and it turned out to be the book-keeper from the restaurant. She was very mad. I called back and aologized and explained the situation. I felt really bad. I hope she's not still mad. Her last day is Friday anyway, but now I'm sure it's all over the place how rude I was. Great. Embarassed

My phone rang in the office in the middle of lunch a number of years ago. I picked up and announced "it's lunch time, please call back later" and hung up. My boss was in my office within 20 seconds reaming me about my lack of phone etiquette..... and he worked on the floor below me so he must've hauled some serious butt to get up there that fast.

speaking of phone etiquette,

if my husband calls during the day, it's always between 11:30 and noon. sooooooo, one day the phone rings, i see his company name on the ID -- it's 11:45, i answer and say something rather raunchy, along the lines of "when ya coming home to see me"......

and MY NEIGHBOR, who also works where my husband does -- goes "Gee, i'd love to, but i was really only calling to see if you'd pick up my mail for the next few days cuz i'm leaving for the airport in a few minutes"

oh. Embarassed sure. Embarassed i'll get the mail. be my freekin' pleasure. if you promise NOT to mention this conversation to anyone at work.

glad he moved away last spring. i'm more attentive to the numbers on the ID now.

open mouth once again insert foot.
