MEMO

OK, lunkhead, it is time. Today begins the for real training for my first marathon. Mad City is four months away, and I will have more than enough to occupy me for that time. I know a lot of it will suck (read: hills), and there will be the temptation to become bored. But I will throw enough races in the mix to keep myself focused. Amd I have learned enough to simply go out and find enjoyment in every run.
I know anything can happen. I could go out and run a spectacular race. I could fall (figuratively, I hope) flat on my face. I could even be pushed by my coach... as in in front of a truck . But all the above taken into account -
- I am nervous. Hecky yes - why not? But I know how to take that and use it to my advantage.
- I am not afraid. We Belgians don't know the meaning of the word fear. Or a lot of other words, for that matter
.
- I have quite a few people expecting big things. I hope not to disappoint them - that's my only concern.
It's time. Well, "out in a force ten gale" with you. Let's see what happens.

Go for it Man! 4 months is plenty of time for you to get ready. Draw up a plan and stick to it. Listen to your body when it tells you to back off some.
Finally come back here if you need some buttslaps!
Good Luck and keep us all posted.

Good luck, you'll have a blast, and you can eat more. Always a plus in my book.
