Ok. I really won't but right now I hope she ODs.
Our landlady volunteered to be our wedding photographer, at a fairly good price. We checkes, and decided that she was the most reasonable, so we signed her up.
(Gina, you've already heard most of this, but there was a new development as I was picking up things around the house).
She showed up at our pre-wedding cocktail party/pool party with hair sticking out all over, rambling like a NY socialite on thorazine, promptly dropped one of the cameras into the pool, and scared my friend Liz. No one can scare Liz. She wrestles crocodiles.
At the point she arrived, I was getting my butt ready to go the the cottage with Gina to get ready, so I don't know what she did to the rest of the guests. I'm sure that they will tell me.
We get ready, get to the wedding, no photographer to be found. OK, most of our friends have cameras, and can cover us on the pics (and have already started to do so nicely, thanks, Keith! and our other friend Anne.)
(At this point, let me explain that this person did not tell me that they were planning on sleeping in our house. Mind you, I told her that we had other friends staying here. She told us she had no key.)
Sunday morning, after the wedding, I come out to let Sierra (my dog) out. We stayed at a lovely resort (The Moorings) for two days after the wedding. Local, hidden, and beautiful.
I walk into the house, find not one, but two dogs (one of which is landlady's!) and no food, and no water. Which means landlady's dog has eaten all of the food because my dog will not eat dog food until she has determined that there is no other source of "better" food, meaning ours. And she won't ever clean a bowl out. Not in the five years that she has been with me.
Into the bedroom. Here lies landlady, sprawled out all over OUR bed, her bra hanging off the bedpost, glasses scattered around, looking for all the world like a two dollar whore on a good payday. Oh, wait. I forgot to mention the pills. There was a pile of at least 100 pills scattered all over our dresser. They were not ours, BTW. No one gets high from Nexium and Vioxx. They turned out to be some variant of Ativan/Valium/whatever taht explains a lot.
I'm immediately awake. The first words out of my mouth are "YO! Valley of the Dolls! Get your ass out of my bed!"
She wakes up, starts to mumble about locking herself out and something else that made absolutley no sense other than to someone in a tranquilizer induced semi-coma, and tries to follow me around the house, apologizing. I do believe I told her to leave me the hell alone and that I did not want to see her when I returned.
So, I drive back to our lovely little wedding cottage, and after the groom heard the news, he drove back, tols her to stay away from me "for a while", and basically kicked her out. The last he saw, she was putting all of her pills together and crying in the middle of the floor. Too bad, so sad.
FLash to last night and this morning. I'm straightening up a bit. I find a few pills scattered under a chair which my dog could have eaten. Thanks to genie, I know that they are only blood pressure medication but they are not good for a dog. And my dog will eat anything that she thinks we've dropped on the floor that resembles food.
So, this morning, I start straightening up more and find these little beauties under the couch http://www.seroquel.com/.
I'm sure that they are great for dogs, based on this...http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic2/quetiap_wcp.htm
So, how's your day? And anyone have any advice on how to go about suing my landlady?

Right now, I'm ready to cry or roundhouse kick someone's sorry ass off a dock. I'm just so happy my dog didn't eat any of them, and so upset that she could have done so because of someone else's jack-assed-ness.

If we only had a weekly Dummass of the Week award... your landlord would've have won in a landslide.

Sue for what? Breech of contract (for the wedding photos)?
You can press charges for tresspassing. Even if she is the landlady, she can't come and go as she pleases (based on GA law).
I bet y'all never knew I was so good with this law stuff.

Breech of contract, criminal tresspassing, endangering an animal (animal abuse?). You don't leave phsyotrophic tranquilizers on the floor around an animal. My dog's bopping around as per usual, but she could have been dead. You can mess with me. Don't mess with my dog.

You forgot to mention the fact that HER dog was staying at the house too and that poor animal must have gotten into some of her pills because the dog literally looked more stoned than its owner. Picture one of your old pothead friends from college with the eyes almost squinted shut from being stoned, that's what this poor dog looked like when we saw her back at the house on the way to the Moorings. Unfriggingbelievable how f-ed up some people are.
But then again, for an addict, feeding the addiction takes precedence above all else, no matter what or who it hurts in the process.

How does she keep it together enough to be a landlord? Have you had to deal with her much?

I would start looking for a new place. Bring her to small claims court to get back the money for the photographs she didn't take. Other than that, I'm not sure you could get trespassing because she owns the property...

What a wierdo and such a strange story. Thank goodness your dog didn't eat any of her pills. Those pills you found under your couch-can you send them to me? I think my co-worker is bipolar and could use some meds.
