at drinking the amount of water I should be during the summer. According to this linkL

http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/fitness/tools/hydration

I should be drinking 100 ounces a day of water. I don't mind water but I can't drink that much of it in a day. Granted I could and probably have drank that much soda (or beer) in a day.

Yes, you can. Gradually increase the amount you drink each week. There are days I drink way over 128 oz. Start next week!

I drink a lot of water but I don't know what the formula is that they are using, my number was HIGH...I like the standard of weigh yourself before your run, if you lose weight on a run, you probably need at least 16 oz of water per pound lost as thats is how much you sweat out, but usually when that happens to me its not too hard to get it in.

dunno

I drink at least the required amount of water (96oz) a day and I also likely drink at least another 96 oz in other fluids. I am well hydrated I guess. I don't even count the water I intake while I run.

Here's the deal:

JUST DO IT.

If you play on my team, you don't play unless you bring one important piece of equipment to practice besides yourself:

WATER BOTTLE.

For long runs, a carbohydrate beverage with glucose polymers (maltodextrin, really) in a 5-7% solution of water, with cold-processed whey protein mixed in at a 4:1 ratio of carb-to-protein is best. Hard to find in commercial formulae, but it's out there.

To get me closer to where I should be, I bought a brightly colored Nalgene bottle specifically for my office. In the morning, when I get a coffiee I fill my bottle (1L, of course) at the same time. When I'm out of coffee, the water's there, and by that time I'm too lazy to get another coffee Embarassed so I drink the water.

I find that I can go through 2 or 3L a day this way.

If I get 50oz of water in a day, I consider that a lot. If I drink more, I urinate every 11 minutes.

I choose to stay a little on the dry side. Especially at the worst time, the day prior to a race.

I got back a figure of 97oz - that's about 2.8 litres. I'm lucky if I drink 1.5 litres of water per day. And I drink 16oz of coffee every moring which only increases my water needs (for every cup of caffinated beverage you need an additional cup of water!)

I hear your body gets used to water when you start drinking more and more.
....i hope that kicks in soon because I get up about every 10 minutes to run to the potty. Very Happy

This is true. I weigh 125-130 and I drink a gallon or more a day. I don't spend all day in the potty either. I do sweat like a pig though.
