Regarding requesting a sit down to discuss past, present and future medical concerns. Now I know I likely wont get a sit down with that many specialists but I sent the same email to all the docs regarding 10 of our major concerns for Abby.
The idea came to me on Friday, and I talked with Robin about it over the weekend. She liked the idea and thought it would be great to get them all in the same room, boy would that get interesting.
Should cause quite a stir.
The one thing that I made perfectly clear is that I am not condemning any of them but want to get all of us on the same page because often each of the other specialist do not know what the other is doing. Most of them will realize what I am trying to accomplish.
The major problem with someone like Abby is that we have to keep it (the big picture) together as many of the docs are so good in their one little area that they often are unaware of the whole big picture.

I think this is a great idea and very proactive on your part, Joe. There should be communication between specialists when they're all treating the same little body.

It's a great idea and if the doctors have time, they will likely do it. Good docs who keep their egos in check really do want what's best for the patient. Good luck!!

Docs with big egos always feel their judgment is being questioned when a patient makes a suggestion and that makes me burning mad . Their big egos tend to blind them to good suggestions, sadly.

i agree the sitdown will not happen most likely. does does not mean it's not a good idea. If they do poo-pooo the idea maybe you can at least get them to email you each individual doctor's plan and you can come up with a mail group to keep them all updated.
