If you could prevent either an earthquake in Iraq that would kill 50,000 people, an airline disaster at your local airport that would kill 200 people, or a motor vechicle accident that would kill an acquaintance of yours, which would you choose?

I would pick #1. If, however, you would have said "someone close to me" rather than "an acquaintance" I probably would have picked the last.
