I actually saw a website that listed all the different colors and what they mean and looked to see what skin cancer was, and it's...black. Yeah. That made me feel like sh*t.
Sorry, but I'm not wearing a death-colored bracelet on my wrist to go forth in my life-colored life, you know? I'll just send a check. I understand about raising awareness, but people are inundated with bracelets just now, and frankly, I don't need any external ornamentation to know what I've got.

yes....already have. Blue ones. I believe it is more about awareness than cancer. Cancer they "are" cures, blue ones are to make "others" aware that "I'm acting this way and I can't help it", there isn't a cure.

Just some googling on wristbands will show you how the wristbands are overdone, now its just a marketing gimmick. NASCAR, Pro Sports, College Sports. I even found a website that will customize for your corporate event.
It was a good idea but now the message is totally lost .

Weird, I was just having this exact conversation with some friends over dinner last week. And we made almost all the same comments people have already contributed ('cept instead of genital herpes I think we used gonorrhea).
In the end we came to the same conclusion as Cappy. But I understand why people are still wearing them...
