If you had an illness and they started selling wristbands to raise money for research and/or to help out with meds and medical supplies for people stricken by the illness would you buy the wristbands? Would you wear them?

No

and

No

Only because there is glut of wristbands out there now, and now I think that its the thing to do.

I'd rather donate money directly

OK...

Yes...yes...because it does still raise awareness with the bands in display. You do get asked about them.

No...no...I get Cappy's point entirely.

How did this become a question where I'd wind up being undecided!

no and no its way overdone now, no one knows or seems to care what red ones or purple or teal stands for, and if you ask it happens that its a "baller band" from nike that whoever bought from nike benefitting...nike.

I might try to find what foundations or organizations support whatever disorder that were in my area or exist at all and see what fundraising and support they have set up and see if there is any way to support that with my own fundraising efforts.

I guess it would depend on the condition/disease and if I were willing to talk about it. For example, if it was for diabetes, then sure! Why not? If it was for genital herpes, then nahhh...I think I'd pass...

I might send money but I won't wear wristbands. They bug me. I have one for the relay for life but I can't wear it...same as wearing a watch or bracelet next to the keyboard, it bugs me.
