Batjac, I've determined that anybody who gets a grouse is just plain lucky. I don't hunt 'em much but I've done nothing but miss during the times I have hunted them. I generally have to swallow my heart back down into my chest before even pulling up on them due to their habit of flushing at the most wonderful times.... |
I get my fair share of grouse but only because I am a snap shoter. Give me a bird in the wide open field where I have to lead them and I am going home hungry more times than not. As far as flushing goes, we will usually stop and chit-chat for a few minutes during a drive. And after we are done and everyone is heading back to there position in the line usually a bird will flush. There are sneaking little bas..., uh, things. They sit there and listen to you talk and when you are least expecting them to flush the do. I love it!!!!
