I usually run 5-7mi each morning on a hilly loop (mileage depends on route) and I typically run the 5mi loop in ~34 minutes. It's essentially a warm-up for my work-out.

Today, after taking six days off for Spring Break, I couldn't believe my lack of performance. The loop is actually 5.2 miles (I do the first 5 in 33-35 minutes and then finish the last little bit at the 7:00 pace) and this morning I began to get a stitch at only 25 minutes AND I was struggling at 8:00 min/miles. I felt terrible! At over 43 minutes I finished, and I was FINISHED.

It was demoralizing and discouraging.

If you lost it that fast, chances are that it will come back quickly too.

Maybe you just had a bad day.
