What are your feelings on what should be aired via TV/Radio?
Should there be any lines drawn or is everything fair game?

I don't listen anymore but I was a huge fan when he was first broadcast in Philly back in 86 or 87 <??> Rob Lowe dial a date was the funniest radio bit I ever heard, I sat in my car and missed two classes because of it
I think he was a pioneer in radio and responsible for what radio is today (good and bad) - specifically the fact that DJs talk more than they play music.
He's an equal opportunity offender, there is no sacred cow that can't be mocked. If you're not a fan - don't tune in - it's a choice. Now that he's going to satelite - don't pay to listen.

I think he's an idiot so I don't listen to him.
I'd guess just about anything is fair game - if someone doesn't like it change the station.

I think people keep pushing the limits. The line has to stop somewhere between funny and crude.
Now that he is going on Satelite at least people have to pay to listen to him.

But what about children? We can control what they listen to and see in our presence, but if it's available and other parents are more permissive...
And I'm glad HS has gone to "pay-per-listen" that makes a lot of sense to me.

My sons have both heard him I'd guess. The youngest one I know thinks he's an idiot also. Personally I wouldn't give anyone a quarter to hear him spout off.

howard stern is a crude but enterprising bastage who lauged his sleezy way to the bank every payday. thanks listening public -- i'm a gazillionaire and guess what -- you're NOT.
glad he went the way of the satellite. who would pay to listen to that assclown and isn't his crap a little old by now? i mean, he's so friggin' 80s. yawn. there's just too many stern-ettes in every single market on morning radio. it's lost its effect. what a bore.
you're not even funny anymore.
i guess anything's fair game on radio. apparently, losing your top on TV in front of millions isn't gonna fly.

Mmm hmm, satellite's the way to go. Especially because Opie & Anthony resurfaced there.

| airehead wrote: | | What are your feelings on what should be aired via TV/Radio? | I like the concept of broadcast TV having standards/limits and for-a-fee-cable broadcasting airs what the market will bear. However, the current standards system is flawed because the limits are not consistent. I think the cable system is working.
Radio is in the same boat now with for-a-fee-satellite radio.
