so, did it seem to come back naturally for you? or was it slow going at first?

Very slow going at first. I still remember some of those 20 minute runs. I'd jog out for 10 minutes and then turn around and come back.
I'm still trying to get back to my High School pace. Don't think I'll ever get there, either.
After I started running in August, I registered for a 5K in October, I ran that, then thought, "next spring I'm doing a 10K". I did a 10K and thought, "Wonder if I can do a half marathon?" Did the half marathon and watched a guy finishing his full marathon with a prostetic leg, and thought, "I can do that". And by October 2000 I had ran my first marathon.
So I guess it did come back kinda quickly, I guess. But then, I never ran more than 6 miles ever in High School, so maybe this is something different.

I did track in high school. (Wasn't very good at it)
And I started running again in college, sometime around the summer of '88, but only 1-2 times a week. I kicked it up around 1991-1992. I hated running with my husband then but now I love running with him. I didn't get obsessed with it until 6 or 7 years ago.

I ran track in high school and have been running on and off since then. I have been running consistently since 1988 when I entered my first race and really got hooked.

Ran track/cross country for 2 yrs in h.s. and then off and on during early 20's. Age 30 rolled in and was tired of the gut and lack of energy that came with. Now have been running for almost 14 yrs straight with occasional time on the disabled list due to foolish injuries.

yeah, uh, I can relate...
This month makes 11 years (sporadically)specifically, I took off most of my first three "fat years" of college I've been running fairly consistently (left knee injuries allowing) since around the summer of '99.

Mr. Aire and I have been running about 9 months now.
He ran track in Jr/Sr High and also played other sports. This is my first experience with running as a sport.

I started running in 1995. THen I took a year off when I had my first child. Then I ran again for 4 years (ran 2 marathons in that time). Then I took a year off when I had my second child. Now I'm running again.

Ran track and cross country for one season my junior year of HS, but most of the running I did was for wrestling (weight loss) I ran one race (a 10k) when I was about 17.
Started running in ernest April 7, 2002. I have run two half marathons and 2 full marathons as well as a host of shorter races since then.
So I guess I have been running for about a year and a month!
