Weren't ever engaged, not really. Dated, got pregnant (with Libby), lived together, then several months after Will was born I said "Hey, we should get married," and he said, "Yeah," and we did the JP thing a few days later.
Not the best way to do it maybe, but worked for us.

The long engagement came from my dad asking me to make him one single promise. He'd never asked me anything so serious in my life and I really felt I had to. He asked that I finish my degree before we got married. He got married just as he started college and I came along shortly afterwards and he never did finish a BA. So I graduated on a Friday and got married the next weekend.
