How do you measure the distance you cover, yards or meters? Since I’m not from the UK, I usually measure in meters but to be hones I have no idea about the relationship between yard and meters and I don’t know how to convert. That’s why I have problems when I go somewhere where people don’t use metric system. How about you?

I’ve tried to learn to use both systems, but it wouldn’t work, I just don’t know how to use yards. I always get confused, so I quit trying. I also have a big problem when somebody says that he’s, for example, 6ft tall. I can never at least approximately calculate how much that is. And I can’t even get the picture about that person’s height. But I guess that’s just the matter of habit. If we would switch completely to one or other system, we would soon be able to use it. Besides, I suppose that each pool has both measurements available. Maybe I should memorize how much 100 meters is in yards and after that calculate easily.
