House shopping is sometimes fun

Over the past two weeks I have probably looked at 100 houses. I have only stepped into about 30-40 of them, though. Some are just not even nice enough on the outside to even consider going inside.

I find that by going into other people's homes that I really have a great taste for decorating and HOUSE CLEANLINESS!!!!. Here is where some of my journey's have taken me:

1. One house was so full of cat smell (read: urine) I could barely get passed the front door.
2. One house was so full of smoke smell I could barely get passed the front door.
3. One dude was a total Grateful Dead fan. He had a wall in his office that had a built-in cassette (what's that???! Shocked

) tape shelf that was approximately the size of a small room wall and was totally full of G.D. tapes.
4. People lie. 2 bedrooms and a room in your basement that "Uncle Joe" throws a mattress in is NOT a house to be sold as "3 bedrooms."
5. If you are trying to sell your house for more than a quarter of a million dollars do a little CLEANING before you show it!
6. Old people have a lot of junk!
7. If you want to sell your house don't paint the walls lilac, baby blue, or mint green!
8. Mold...bathroom...not good!
9. Seller = Realtor = Not good.
10. 3-level Deck = PARTY TIME!!!! (the current house we are looking at)

I would agree to literally all that you stated up there. My uncle's house is on the mkt at 1/2 mil + change. I feel that he needs to clean this place up more. He is apathetic dunno

. The frekin dresser.... I know that a dresser has stuff on top of it but not that many bottles and most of them on their sides....

I didn't find house shopping nearly as enjoyable as you do.

Cleanliness was a shocker for me too. I looked at a house that reeked of urine from the owners, not the animals. Apparently they aim to miss, and never mop.

I also have a really hard time looking past other people's stuff and imagining my stuff in it's place. I like to look at empty and/or new houses.
