If the red cars try to show up early and take you share I will tell them to beat it..unless they have a warrant.

Plans for Thanksgiving just finalized. We will go to my sister-in-law's in Hershey PA. Drive over (3hours) on wed eve. then come home Sat. because I have rehearsals and church to take care of.

Christmas: A few years ago, when we moved into this house from a trailer (yes, I was trailer trash for a while) We announced that we would no longer take the kids out on Christmas Day. If they wanted to see the grandkids the gparents would have to come here for dinner. It works out just fine. We don't overeat (for years it was 2 meals on Christmas and thanksgiving) Kids get to stay home and play with their new stuff. I usually cook (and drink) Makes it a great day for us. As a musician, I work right up to Christmas eve, and Christmas Eve is the highlight for us. Christmas eve is the sacred for us, then Christmas day is the celebration and revelry. BTW folks, I'm all for the 12 days of Christmas....let that celebration roll right into the new year and the feast of epiphany! We will be celebrating 12th night at a party with the church staff where I work.

How's about total strangers that share your affinity for worms?! Are they invited too??

Thanksgiving I will be in Louisiana with brother and sister and family and grand kids. First time in years this has happened. It is a surprise party for my dad since he is retiring at the end of the year and all of us couldnt make it for christmas. 11 people in my parents house for 5 days or so including 3 grandkids!

Christmas we will be sitting at home relaxing. I don't have enough vacation or enough money to travel.

thanksgiving --- my favorite holiday...though that stems more from my college days of coming home and seeing all my friends, going out on Wednesday evening, being very hung-over on Turkey Day and eating and couch time until I felt good enough to go out again...talk about days of misspent youth!

this year for turkey day, we go to my sister's house although she hasn't officially invited us yet...

Considering I started this thread I guess I should include my plans..lol
Thanksgiving day we will have dinner at our house just the 6 of us.
Thanksgiving weekend we will probably try to visit relatives, but will spend most of the weekend packing since we are moving the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Christmas should be interesting. My brother is coming home the Friday before Christmas and would like ALL of the family to get together for dinner that weekend since he is spending Christmas day in Michigan with his inlaws. Now if everyone shows there will be ---
mom
9 siblings
6 spouses
15 nieces and nephews
Shocked

Then on Christmas eve we go to my sister in laws for a party, she usually does the italian tradition of serving 7 fish. YUM! Very Happy

Since my mom is a nurse we frequently have holidays on alternate days. So my mom, brother and I will have turkey and all the fixings this Sunday. Then Tuesday I travel to NC for another round of Thanksgiving, with some aunts and uncles and a few grandparents. Its a good thing I like turkey, I've had two Thanksgivings for years.
Then for Christmas my mom, brother and I will celebrate a few days beforehand. Then on Christmas day I have breakfast with one friend and her entire family (I've known them since I was little) and have dinner with my best friend and her family (including my little godsons). No one has invited me for Christmas yet, but I know where they live.

We don't have Thanksgiving, but I think that perhaps it is something we should look at instigating Wink .

For Christmas we are doing our usual champgane breakfast for family and any friends who also care to call in. We have a scrummy buffet spread that my sister mostly organises, and we cook bacon and eggs on the BBQ If its fine we eat outside - its summertime for us.

The day after Christmas we are heading off to the beach for two weeks, staying in a camp ground (being trailer trash as i just can't warm to tenting for that long) Mr. Green . While we are there we are doing a Half Ironman teams event, and weather permitting most days will be running and riding, lying in the sun and swimming in the surf Cool .
