i got a phone call for an interview about 4 minutes after i faxed my resume in 
2pm today. suddenly getting up at 730 was worth it.

i'm off to get ready for the interview. here's hoping for non-sucky hours (i don't even know what time of day the shifts are) and a fast hiring process (assuming the level of suckiness is low).

back from the interview.
everything went well... 5 days a week (off tuesday and saturday) 9.80/hr 730am til 1230pm (to start, eventually 8 hrs, which i'll try to avoid).
it's exactly as expected - loading unloading trailers etc. stacks of bread as high as i can reach, each stack weiging 500lbs (so i'm lead to believe - i don't quite buy it but i'll find out). apparently quite easy to move thanks to physics.
interview was pretty much "this is what the job is" and "we're just having problems with some of the workers". says she'll call my references and i'll know by weds or thurs.
granted that's what UPS said too, so i'm not getting my hopes up.  thanks for the vibes.
