The annual Hogpen Hill Climb will be Saturday at noon in Helen, GA. It is a 17k course with a 2500' change in elevation upward if the weather cooperates and the local sheriff doesn't close the top of the hill and make us run an alternate route. There is also 5k piglet race for those who do not want to run the 17k course.
Registration is $25.00 and you get a really nice polo shirt. The weather forecast for Helen (which is about an hour outside of Atlanta) for the 17th is scattered snow showers with the low temps being around 16 and the high around 46. The days before are sunny without any snow so the top of the hill should be available for our running pleasure.
Any other Georgia runners game for this one? PH, Hyper, Crazyfrog, Sonny. This is not a PR course although you do have to complete in 3 hours I think.
Also be aware that once you reach the finish at the top of the hill, you must furnish your own transportation back to the start. So it would be helpful if someone has a significant other who can meet us at the top.

Sounds like a fun race at an interesting distance but I can't make that trip, I might try and plan for it next year though. My brother live's in Atlanta so that would make it a little easier to drive up the day before and then head to the race.
