Ran a 5K at SDSU in Brookings, SD on Saturday morning.

Temp was 30 degrees. It was my first run since the marathon, so I just wanted to run comfortable and still get a decent run in, without an injury.

Mission accomplished. Ran a 20:56 and finished in 11th place overall. I felt pretty good. I was actually in 6th to 9th place for about the first half of the race. Cool

It was fun, my brother, his fiance, and one of my cousins ran in the race. We all wore our Cardinal 5K shirts from my race this summer. I was tempted to break out the buttslapper gear, but I have to save that for special occasions! Very Happy

Great job Coachy! You would've shaved at least a minute off your time if you were wearing your B-slappin gear!!!

Good job, Coach! I bet your time would have been even better had you taken that thing off your shoulder!

30° and you're wearing a T-shirt? Get some clothes on man! Shocked

Good job on the race. Did you get any hardware?

no hardware

I did get to take home a nifty mug!(this race always gives out a mug instead of a t-shirt) (and no, I don't know why).

And, I wore the t-shirt over my long sleeve polar tec mock turtleneck. It was quite comfortable.

Good going coach! Being in marathon shape sure makes the short ones feel like a walk in the park, eh?

BTW, How's the cc team doing? Any of the meets put on an "old-timer" race for coaches? I remember one meet our school went to had one. It was the one time of the year the tables turned and we could yell at the coach to get his butt in gear Mr. Green

The CC team has improved ALOT. 4 of the girls have taken 4 minutes off of their 4K time! The boys have improved too! At the beginning of the season we were pretty bad, just like previous years, and I just kinda thought "here we go again".

But last Saturday we placed 2nd as a team at a meet. And I have a girl who has placed in the top ten in the last two meets, and a couple of other girls are starting to place in the top twenty pretty consistently too.

No old-timer races, although I wish there would be. I could clean up on the other CC coaches around here!
