This just in....now EIGHT degrees F. Wind chill? Beats me, I'm inside and not affected! But there was that one day many years ago, a trailer fire....the Bengals were playing the Chargers for the AFC Championship...the (wind-chilled) temperature in the stadium was reported to be -54 F....but that trailer? Not down in some stadium. No, it was atop that hill above the airport...wind chill? -71 F. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between -20 and -70.

Do y'all say "Its a dry cold" like they talk about the heat in Vegas?

Not exactly. When it's a wet cold, you're either shoveling it or wishing you'd covered the woodpile the last time you hauled in some logs.
Nah, these days, snow and cold elicit remarks about 1-hour school delays or out 'n' out cancellations. But back in the day...before mandated busing, when kids walked to school...I can remember school being closed once for two days - because the boiler malfunctioned...it was -22 F. We really couldn't enjoy the time off because it was just too cold to play outside. Those were the only two days cancelled due to snow/cold during my K thru 12 schooling.
Dry cold/wet cold? Nah. It's more a case of "bitter cold" or "sharp cold" or "numbing cold"...something along those lines. But then again, I'm not from the Snow Belt...Robp?

Damn cold! Here in VA I'm trading running outside in 10°F (feels the same) with 3 mph winds and yesterday's snow remnants on the ground for indoors on the gym's teeny <.1M upper track. Should be boring, but with no long underwear here I need to make sure my legs make it back to the hotel and don't fall off somewhere on the street. Still warmer than back home, where it's 6°F (feels like -8°F) with 12 mph winds .

Have I mentioned that you need to use a trailing semi-colon to get the degree symbol to show up?
