Has anyone here ever had a hernia and the resultant surgery? I ask because it looks like Chris (Mrs. Boiler) has hernia. She goes to see the surgeon today to find out what the deal is. I know it isn't a big deal and she will probably be laid up for a few days in bed but I was kind of wondering what else to expect.
Thanks,
Eric

Yep I had (R) groin hernia surgery Aug 7th. The first 2 days are the worst. It took me a good week before I felt decent enough to do everyday type of things. ie driving a car, getting out of bed comfortably. I wasnt allowed to lift anything with weight for 5 weeks till I saw my surgeon again. Its still alittle uncomfy running, plus I play hockey too and thats been alittle tougher, just cause I am still week in that area. But as far as heeling its been great. I think my surgery based on what my wife said was around 50 min. In fact I got to the hospital at 9am and was home on the lazy-boy by 2:30.

Boiler if you want any more info dont hesitate to ask.

Thanks Trekay,
You pretty much confirmed what the doctor said today. She goes in on Tuesday October 22 at 5:30 am so as long as it isn't anything serious where she has to stay overnight she will probably be leaving around noon. Then I get to play Mr. Mom for afew days until she is moving around again. Jason is going to hate not being picked up by her. Hopefully Kaylee isn't to heavy for her to lift.

If I have any other questions I will send you a message.

Boiler that was one of the hardest things was not being able to pick up my kids. I explained to them that daddy couldnt for awhile and they wanted to see my boo-boo so after that they understood. Best of luck to your wife she'll be fine Smile
