I need a new microwave and DVD player at home. The microwave is a definite, need it very soon item and the DVD player can wait a little bit.
Should I get the Thanksgiving day paper and search for the best deal I can get on a microwave and DVD player and hit the stores super birght and early on Friday or are there better deals to be had in a week or two without the hassle of getting up and going shopping early with all the crazed housewives?

If you're looking for bottom dollar pricing, you'll probably not find better deals than the day after thanksgiving...though I'm really not what you'd call an expert shopper.

Gotta love the 5am post-turkey-day sales! Check the newspaper the next couple days PH and if you find a deal, get there a half-hour before open and show off that sprinting ability by being the first one to the small appliance aisle

You won't find better prices than on Black Friday. Do your homework and show up early. Run through the store, get your items, and get out before the wimmins eat you alive.
I would advise you to ride in a vehicle rather than your bike, though, as a microwave might be a bit unwieldy.

After looking at our inserts for Friday, your best bet is to go early.
Some stores have a one hour sale or sale from X to Y (7 AM to 11 AM) and microwaves are in two of the seven insert I searched.
