So when I was at the Dr.'s with my wife on Friday, he was explaining the next surgery that he'll probably have to do. There was a medication on the market that helped with keeping the adhesions from reforming but it was pulled off the market a few days before my wife's last surgery.

The only other real option is to flood the abdominal cavity with a fluid the will help to keep the adhesions from reforming. The only problem with that treatment is that it's absorbed into the body too quickly to do too much good. It's absorbed in about 12 hrs. and it needs to stay in the abdominal cavity for 4 or 5 days.

I made an off hand remark about installing a valve so that the fluid could be topped off every so often until the 4 or 5 days was passed and to my complete and utter surprise, the Dr. said that might actually work, but he doesn't know that it's ever been done before. They use a similar treatment plan for certain cancer patients, but he's never heard of such a thing to prevent the reformation of abdominal adhesions. He told me he'd give the idea some thought.

Yesterday when we went back in to see him, he said he'd given the procedure some thought and was beginning to warm up to the idea..

So, if I came up with this new procedure, I get to name it right? Sort of like the Heimlich maneuver?!

I thought we'd have a little fub with this and try to come up with names for the procedure. The only thing I've come up with so far is the johnnyoscopy, but that really doesn't fit because it's not a scope procedure.

What say you?
