OK here's the background Story...
A good co-worker friend of mine husband has passed away (he was found dead in his home last week, only 50 yrs old )
Anyway, he was the cook in his family and she would always bring in food from the previous night's supper for her lunch.
So a few of us from work are making meals for her so she can freeze them and have one less thing to worry about while she's going through this terrible time.
Can you guys give me some good suggestions of premade - freezable meals for her?

Good for you.
Gumbo.
Stews and soups do really well in the freezer. Just about any typical "winter" meal will freeze well. In the winter I usually go with a medley of gumbo, red beans (to put on rice), stew, split pea soup, potato soup, brocolli soup, and chili in my freezer.

Yeah, he was the 'Live Hard, Play Hard' Type. I'm pretty sure it was a heart attack. I just feel so much for the family. That was one of the hardest funerals i think i have been to in a while

Chicken/Turkey potatoes au gratin
pasta alfredoe
Mac n Cheese w/ ham
Chili
Pork Chops w/ Baked potatoes
I'd stay away from most rices, BUT a rice pilaff seems to do well frozen

Just about anything will freeze and reheat well. I make my week's lunches ahead of time and freeze them in individual containers. Never had a problem with reheating.
I will say cream sauces (Alfredo or Hollaindaise) don't do so well.

I go to my mom's Nursing home every week.
I am constantly dismayed by the number of "young" people in there as residents. These are people who have likely had a very devastating stroke. I can tell you right now, these people are not "old" by any criteria you may want to use.
And my mom wonders why I exercise a lot...
