The whites of my eyes are swollen! I was at my in-laws and they have a cat, I am allergic to cats.
My eyeballs are actually swollen! The whites of my eyes look like they have fluid in them. It is quite disturbing, really.
Is this normal? (I couldn't find anything on web md...)

It's definitely an allergic reaction. I can picture you looking like some pop-eyed ghoul. I hope your eyes don't pop!

I know exactly what you are talking about---pretty yucky, but it happens. This has happened to Bambam more than once--usually happens when he is exposed to something he is highly allergic to for an extended period of time---like when he would cut the fields at the old house. There are over the counter drops that can help (Bausch n Lomb make a good one) but you may want your doctor to check it out to make sure you have no other problems.

Every time something bothers my eyes, that's what they look like. Kinda like the 'whites' are sporting some gelatinous substance on them. And then they get 'sticky' feeling.
When I was a kid and this happened I would use both eye drops and ice. Now I just do the drops, which seems to help after a couple of hours.
I use an OTC eye drop called Opcon-A by B&L. My allergist did tell me that these drops have the 'rebound effect' - the more you use them, the more you need to use them. So she prescribed two different kinds: Patanol and Optivar. Both expensive. For me the Optivar worked better.
