Hi there. I'm interested in investing some money in getting a decent heartrate monitor. I've been running for close to 4 years now (I know I should have gotten one from the start!) and it's time I better do some closer monitoring on my training. I have been considering 2 brands: Nike and Polaris. Out of the 2 in your opinion, which is a better buy? In my opinion Polaris is kind of pricey but has alot more features than the Nike. Does anyone here use these HRMs or other brands? Any useful input will be appreciated!

I've used both Polar and Timex HRM's. I'm sure the Nike and Rebok work just as well. But don't get caught up in all the bells and whistles and spend $200+ dollars when you can get what you really need for only $79-125.00. My first Polar HRM I spent well over $200.00 on that downloaded all my info to my computer and gave me all this statistical analysis. It looked very interesting.

But the only part that was germaine to me was my heart rate at different points, for which I didn't need all the computer dowloading stuff, alarms if I was in this zone or that one, etc.

By a beginner model. Then if you find you are going to really use it and need some of those bells and whistles, then spend the big bucks.

Hyper's rebok looks pretty decent for the money.
