you probably don't want to hear it, but Congratulations on your finish!
very sorry about the achilles thing, so early on with all those miles to go. i'm thinkin' that would have shut my head down immediately.
i can't really speak to the marathon "disappointment" you may be feeling, but i have run halfs and every one has taught me what dedication, discipline and determination it must take to line up for the full marathon.
for that - i you G! i hope you have a positive marathon experience to emotionally compensate for this one.
great job mister.

I still give it a thumbs up Gdawg. Sub 4:45 is pretty decent considering the crap you went thru.

Congrats on finishing, although I know you wanted something different than what you got. I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Dad!
You finished a freaking marathon!
Great job, reguardless. Getting hurt that early and continuing on to the finish is a amazing accomplishment.
My last marathon I had huge leg cramps in both legs...also coincidentally at mile 15. I had done 4 20 mile training runs, and never had a cramp, but at mile 15 day of the race...I cramped in both, and it absolutely destroyed my goal for the day.
But, I finished.
Just like you.
Eric.

Thank you one and all, for the stuff posted to both Katt's thread and mine. I certainly think she appreciates what you all said to her; I know I appreciate all you said (and the PMs too). This is not only the kind of stuff we like to hear, it's the kind of stuff we need to hear!
Posting this as I'm watching the Red Sox - Yankees game. It's apparent that anyone with the last name of Schilling who is taking part in athletic activites is having their achilles problems biting them in the butt. We must be related - it runs in the family. Or, in my case, not.

Sorry I missed your report earlier, and I am sorry to hear of your personal disappointment
You turned in a nice effort despite the odds
