One day my son was about to pour the remainder of the box into his bowl, so I had to take out my scimitar and cut his arm off. bewildered, he looked at me and screamed,
"Oh dear God! Whyyyy?!?!?!! Why, did you do that?"
I simply told him,
"I gotta have my Pops!"
*crunch*crunch*crunch*
in other words - if you eat cereal - what's your favorite?

and
Being the Dad, primary grocery shopper, and the first one up in the morning, I am assured virtual supremacy over the cereal choices.

Prohemp--
do tell your armless tyke that you have done him a favor; although now armless he at least has the benefit of less sugar in his tiny system.
i remember when they changed the name from Sugar Pops to Corn Pops.
i stand in the cereal aisle, bewildered, attempting to find a cereal a kid will eat with less than 9 grams of sugar per serving.....
so far, it's Life and Kix and Wheaties. i spare them the Grape Nuts and Bran Flakes. i mean, it is possible to find a low sugar cereal, it's just that it tastes somewhat like shredded cardboard and the boxes are no fun to read.

I like granola.
Also, there are two cereals I WILL not buy or I would eat the whole box in a day:
Blueberry Morning
Banana Nut Crunch

Breakfast cereal is the one food in our house that I'm not ultra concerned about the nutrition. (ok, so I feel a little guilty, but I love cereal! )
(Makes for a good lowfat dessert or snack+ ya get calcium!)
My son and I are having a blast going through different flavors.
My current favorites are: S'mores Crunch from General Mills. (I think it's a rehash from the 80's--it is supah tasty and we are both trying to be polite and not just finish the whole box off.
I also like the berry/flakes/almond one. (Not special K--although that's ok) It has blueberries and strawberries.
My perennial favorites: Count Chocula!!! and Cookie Crisp!!!

I loved Grape Nuts when I was a kid! Would probably still eat them today it my wife would buy them. The only cereal we have (other than grits and oatmeal) is the occassional bag of Lucky Charms.

I love the Frosted Mini wheats, and I buy them in the Quaker cereals bags....Which the store did not have on sale today and I refused to pay their reg. price....... so now my week is just ruined. This is one of my OCD behaviors and now I can't function at all. I gotta have my mini wheats.

Me too!! And the Grape Nuts O's are actually almost like sugared cereal!
Truth be told, if I could eat unlimited quantities of one cereal without any negative side effects it would be Cocoa Puffs!

I don't eat cereal anymore, but when I did, my favorite was cinnamon Life. Close second were any of the marshmallow cereals. I would eat all of the regular cereal pieces first, and then eat all of the mallows. It was like having a meal, then dessert!
