...felt like the world's BIGGEST dork? Years (and years and years and years) ago I frequeted a very old haunt. Well, just out od curiosity I logged in and there are still the same people there! We're talking a 9-year hiatus since I had last been there!

The first question the Sysop asked me was, "Are you married?" Biggest loser on the block. I'll never ever take for granted my busy and fun-filled life again.

Loser!!!

And I say this after first logging into CR over three years ago...and here I am now...

Shocked Is this a serious question? It was using telnet, actually. It was actually 10 years ago. I looked and I created my account in April 1994.

In it's very basic way, since the late 60's I think. ARPANET anyone?

Telnet is a protocol for logging on remotely to another computer. It's not used very much anymore because of this fancy interweb thingy. If you're interested though, click on Start > Run > type "telnet" and hit enter. The basic telnet prompt will pop up.

I wasn't around for ARPANET. Actually the first network I wired was ARCNet and Novell 2 and UNIX as the servers. Smile

I used to frequent telnet boards when I was freshman/soph in college. The one I went to the most was called 'Down Under'.

Yup, was when I was in college, too. Everyone on the board was online from some college campus. Lots of UK folks on there.
