Gas prices really haven't affected me much since I do most of my commuting by bike and everything else I do is pretty close to home.

Somewhat. I walk to work or bike as much as possible. The traffic here affects how much I drive, because often it's quicker to bike than to drive during season.
DF, on the other hand, has been known to drive 500 yards to the neighbor's house. Yet he'll pace around a restaurant all night.

Not really. I still have to get to work and night class. I'm paying 1.75 for the medium grade stuff.
Between work, class, and sleep, I don't have much time to spend visiting friends in other places.

I work close to home, so it has not affected me too much yet.
And of course I only have to make one more trip to Maine.
I am still trying to get my antique motorcycle registered in PA....the PADMV is the worst bunch of low IQ dorks on the face of the earth. I want to get it done, cuz the cycle gets 100 mpg...so I can go 200 miles on a tank full.
I think that if I get a new job in the future, I will build travel expense into the salary figure.

i actaully paid less for gas last week in town (by the zoo) compared to the station closest to my house... 1.75 in town, 1.85 near the house...for mid grade...

Nope.
Since moving to where we live now, I've always taken the commuter train to work. So it's just an 11-mile or so round trip every day to the train station.

Not really, it's only 3 minutes to work. But I do hate paying that $32.00 for just 16 gallons of gas!!

Not yet, but I'm thinking about alternatives. There are precious few open to me - no public transport available to go to work and back. I won't ride my bike - too dangerous, but I've been thinking about motorcycles. Much better gas mileage, but still dangerous here. If a lot of people started riding motorcycles, it would be better.

Well, I live 27 miles from where I work...We also live out in the country; 4 miles to nearest store and gas station....so if I go anywhere (except going out for a run of course) a car is involved...the only thing we can really do about that is move or get a more fuel efficient car...
