The time change has not affected my running. But considering we don't observe DST, it kind of makes sense that it doesn't affect my running.

I've been mostly running on the treadmill, and on the nice days I run outside. Those runs are usually in the middle of the day though.

WHen I lived downtown I'd run outside in the dark all the time. Living out in the burbs I feel less comfortable doing so. There's less people out and a about, and a lot less traffic. Is that weird?

What, are you stalking me? But yes, when it's cloudy and overcast, I skip the sunglasses (aka when there's no glaring sun) because it gets annoying pushing them up and stuff. There's nothing more annoying than not being able to see through them because it's too dark, except for carrying them in my hand because it's too dark. I think I know the race you're referring to - it was an A to B and it was very cloudy a half hour before the race, so I left the sunglasses in my car at the finish. Of course that meant when I got the start the sun came out. OF course that meant I had a migraine for 4 days postrace as well.

Sun = bad. Cloudy and dark = good. I love doomy and gloomy weather.

Is Bram Stoker a favorite author?

Yowch. I'd do whatever I could to avoid that, too.

Yes, as is the Marquis de Sade. Dark. Is. Good.

Though I suspect you are jealous because Cappy's stalking me, not you. Wink

No, I just couldn't pass up a golden opportunity to be funny Wink
I honestly looked for 10 minutes for a pic of a female vampire to post.....but couldn't find one Wink

I seriously hear you on the sun thing though, I get migraines from it too and it sucks. I always have my sunglasses extra coated. I think I was a mole in my last life.

Not so much the time change, but the cooler temps affect my schedule. The early darkness (and cooler weather down here) allows my to actually get home from work and take the dog skating with me (and with a flashlight) since she is my workout buddy. WHile I am still unable to run, she can run along side me while I skate and enjoy it without becoming overheated.

no...when I lived in San Antonio...I ran light, dark, whenever I had time. When I lived in Green Bay I ran at night only with my group. I even started becoming uncomfortable during the day as some farmhouses were 1/2 mile apart and there were alot of corner bars (in WI the mill workers drink after their night shift and are drunk at 8 am in the morning).

Yes. Out in the open country there's no one to hear your screams! That "Silence of the Lambs" van can sneak up and grab you at any time, completely undetected! Another plus for urban running - places and people to run to.

I'm trying to get back into running in the morning. Ever since it's gotten colder, I've had trouble trying to get up. So I've been running when I get home. I found out that night drivers compared to early morning drivers are usually in more of a hurry and less considerate. Last time I ran at night (7 pm or so) one of the drivers turned on his high beams when he got to me, blinding me and my dog, we both stumbled, I twisted my ankle.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Mr. Green
