Wanted to take this time to wish everone here a merry x-mas.

Just to get you up to speed

Spent the last 20 months working on an complete overhual of our Circulation database, so lots of days of code writing, travel and sadly little to no running.

On the running front, after doing Dublin in Oct 2004 (walking 26.2 miles with only a long walk of 10 miles). cause some serious problems with my foot where the doc pretty much told me no running for a year to let it completly heal.

So I'm finally pain free and right now willing to comitt to running the 10K in Madison in May of 06.

Our parent company has decided to look at other options (ie up for sale) so there's some tension about job security here at work and as usual the rumors. Nothing I can do about it and next month will be 22 yrs at the same company (hopefully not my last yr).

Its been tough to keep up with the various topic being gone a while, so if you all can give me "one" good thing that happened with you that's doable with me.

I wondered what was going on with the gang here but between working long hours it was hard to come here for a visit to get up to speed. Hopefully I can be more of an contributor to these forms in the coming weeks.

Again happy holidays, may the new year bring you closer to your goals.

What is it about folks in the marketing field... we have the same thing here going on.

Scorch - i missed the part about 22 years at the job... that's crazy. i can't understand that Smile i'm going to be leaving mostly because i'm not really happy with the environment, and don't feel i'm producing as well as i could be - that and my "marketing" is very much outweighed by the system work i have to do, and i didn't sign up to do installs and customer support. do you do marketing? what kinda stuff do you do?

Same here I do database marketing using mapping software to track our circulation sub and non subs. Also with our new application been doing my share of PC installs, and system related support...That port of my duties will go away come Jan 1 2006.
