So I spent part of my evening yesterday once again playing mechanic on the ol '84 Dodge because the alternator decided it was ready to give up the ghost. And once again my trusty 16 yr old assistant was by my side doing what he does best - getting covered in dirt and grease. I had been sitting on the passenger side fender with feet resting on the frame rail and it was time to get back down onto the ground. I slid off the front of the fender and in the process the pant leg from my shorts got caught on the steel/rubber hood support. Which means that I got hung up - literally.

My shorts ripped loudly right on up to the, uh, crotch area and I was stuck. Fortuntately all body parts were undamaged. My assistant wasn't sure what to do until I finally got done swearing and told him I needed help getting my fricken pants unhooked from the truck. I finally made it back to earth, realized I wasn't injured and stood there shaking my head. The kid started laughing and had sporadic fits of laughter the rest of the evening. Another Kodak moment that was missed. I am in total relief that the family jewels survived this event unscathed.

Are you certain he wasn't referring to the family jewels?
