We are giving out the fundraiser candy - those big dollar bars (Hershey's, Reese cups, Krakle<?>)- with a few bags of 3 muskateers and milky ways as back up
what do you give out??
Do you get a lot of kids??
will you not give candy to like an 18 yr old who is obviously not in costume??

this year, i think i'll give Skittles. Kids love Skittles.
we do not get alot of kids - probably 10 at the most. yes - 10. for that reason, i should give each one a more generous bag of skittles.
if an 18 yo, without costume, came to my door i'm afraid i'd give him anything he wanted. either that or he would smash my pumpkins and that would make me sad.

We usually buy a mixed bag of goodies to hand out.
We get a fair number of little kids but I'm not sure how many. I've never done the handing out, I'm always out collecting.
If an 18 y.o. came by, it would be one of my sons friends. If it was late enough in the PM, I'd give them some of my surplus, but if I was running low, I'd tell them to get lost.

I was all excited for our first halloween at our house 3 years ago. Pretty major street, not too many kids on it, but alot in the area.
We got 3 kids and they all came together. I told them if they came back in an hour or so, I would give them the rest. They each got a bag of candy bars.
We haven't been home since. I am disappointed. Can't wait to take Mikey out, though.

I'm not big on halloween myself. We just buy a couple bags of candy. I try to get decent stuff tho. Yes I would give candy to whoever wanted it.

i give to whoever shows up, but i often think "how sad" that the parents use their kids to get some candy. I have had several babies less than a year old, trick or treating at my house. You know the kid can't have the candy, so the parents must be the ones eating it. how desperate do you have to be for candy to use your baby to get it?
we don't give out big stuff, but if it's kinda small, we give 2 or 3.

Well, in our old house we rarely had trick or treaters, we were just too far off the main road.
Now that we are in a neighborhood, I'm sure we will get plenty!
I will probably buy whatever is on sale or one of the variety packages with all the best candy bars in them--yum!!!

We live in a large neighborhood, but are at the end of a dead-end road, that is mostly uphill, so we don;t get as many kids as I would like to, bbut we still get a fair amount.
We usually buy a couple bags of miniature candy bars and a bad of mixed treats. We sit out front in the middle of the street with the rest of the neighbors and have a big old party. One of the men on the street has a miniature coffin, and we all dump our candy in there. We almost fill up the coffin with about 6 families contributing. We get chicken wings and some other food and have a big old time. When the kids (any age) come up and say trick or treat, we make them sing a song for us. Can be any sone at all. When they have finished their performance, they can hve as much candy as they want. We also offer food and drinks to the adults who are with them. Pretty , much our whole street participates, which makes it fun for everyone.
As for the 18 year old. They would ahve to perform just like anyone else, but we try to get a better song out of them. We live near UNCC, and get a lof of college kids for candy as well as some colleting can goods for a food shelter. We're always glad to give both.

I buy variety bags of candy that DO NOT CONTAIN CHOCOLATE. A few pounds and no candy left on Halloween has learned me. We don't get a lot of kids, but I have a huge bowl of candy anyway. I give away handfuls to anyone who rings my doorbell.

We live in a complex so we gets no kids...which is fine by me.
My mom never let us trick-or-treat (religious reasons) so we had to be the ones on the block that handed out 'anti-halloween pamphlets' and nickels...She finally buckled and let us go out and as a bonus, our candy was our dinner that night...mmmm..

In high school, I came up with the great idea of trick-or-treating on November 1st. Worked out great! Most people though it was quite inventive of us, they would give us their excess candy.
Some people told us to beat it, though.
