This was in my "mullet" phase. I wanted that long haired rocker look. Couldn't do the PH thing with straight hair, mine is too wavy, so I got it permed and went with that look.
It was nasty.

Oh boy. When I was about 14 - 15, I decided I wanted "Summer Blonde" highlights in my hair, so I went out and bought this Sun-in Ultra highlighter stuff. I've got rather dark brunette hair naturally, so guess what? My hair turned tangerine!! I kid you not. It was horrid, and I ended up having all the stuff stripped out and it took forever!
When I was 15 - 16, I got a mohawk. I thought it was cool; the coach of our high school pom-pom squad (think cheerleaders with an attitude that dance around at half time, if you're wondering what that is) did not. I got thrown off the squad (and began my downward spiral to juvenile delinquency ).
About 5 years or so ago, I decided I wanted burgundy hair. I dyed it (again, I am not making this up) "Intense Deep Cherry". It wasn't good, and "semi-permanent" really means about a year.
No more chemicals, ever!
However, one of the waitstaff at the restaurant in FL had the nicest cornrows. She told me that she did them herself and would do mine as well, so I'm thinking that's a definite once I'm down there.

You *may* say...but it *may* be a lie.
Edited to say...the worst thing I ever did was cut my bangs...off...up to the hair line...Some day...some day...I'm gonna be able to have purple hair and wear flametoed combat boots...to work.

Like this?
Or more of a true mullet? BTW, if you do a google search on "david coverdale" check out the photo in the 3rd column, 2nd row. I actually saw that up close and personal.

I was gonna say...no afro is a darn good afro, unless you're black. Same goes for dreds. All dreds are on white folks is hair balls.

A group of us got crewcuts. This was in '78, the day of long hair so it was pretty radical.
Now I wear it that way all the time.

Weirdest thing I did was: when I got my long hair chopped off I kept a long thin braid (a rat tail, I guess) I could pin it up for things like my Annapolis interview. (Which I tanked, badly)
