Granted, there are people who will probably look into this for cosmetic purposes, but I think that for people who have been severely burned or otherwise disfigured this could be a godsend.
Could also help people going into Witness Protection programs.

Nope, if this thing works, it's gonna be the domain of the rich.
The not-rich who need it (like burn victims) will have to settle for the joy of skin graft upon skin graft.
After I posted this, I did think of witness protection too. But from the side of the bad guys... I don't see gubmint shelling out the bucks for that.

Don't forget criminals using it to change their looks...using a face transplant and shaving off their fingerprints, they're virtually undetectable.

Wouldn't gloves and masks be much more economical?
But seriously, it's just skin. The face should be recognizable, right? I mean it's the same bone and muscle structure. Just the blemishes, moles, scars, etc would be different.

I don't think for a minute that this technology doesn't already exist and is being used by the government to hide people for good.

I went to high school with someone that was burned on neck and arms. The grafts were so painful that he never finished all of them. He said he looked "good enough".

I think I've mentioned this once before...
In his senior year in high school, or the summer before it, my dad was in a car accident and had to have quite a bit of plastic surgery on his face. In his graduation picture, he still is bandaged (but not badly) on his left cheek/jaw.
Even with that, people say I look exactly like him.
