That is the good news...the bad news is that they think he has Von Willebrand's Disease (vWD), Stage III.
We will know more in a few days.
Alia (Maddie's) is holding him now and he seems to be a happy papus..so I hope that meds give him a normal life.
I will keep you all updated.

Ranger -
Sorry to hear of the little one's trouble's.
A legit question on this. There is a condition that some dog breeds (I know Goldens are vulnerable) are suspect to called Von Willebrand's - this isn't the same thing, is it? (animals and people can have similar conditions)
Between, you, Alia, and Mom and Dad, the guy is, I know in good hands.
Keep us updated!

I am not sure it is identical in humans and animals, but yes, it is the same disease. The good news is that it was caught early. We are waiting for some long running tests to come back. I pray it was a false positive. If not, they feel that meds will give him a good long term outlook. They are also chasing down a couple of other issues with him on eyesight.
I will update when I know more.

A quick google on vWD provided background because I had not heard of it before.
Wishing knowledgeable doctors and effective treatment for the little guy.
