PostPosted: 02/23/04 - 10:39    Post subject: Goodbye my friend
... it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
When you see them I'll be there

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time

THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT!

Thanks, kid, just what I needed, a good cry first thing on a Monday. Confused
This one always hits so close to home, but it is indeed a classic.

I liked that song for about 2 weeks when it came out in 1912....

I think I was having emotional issues from my stupid dog getting run over.

The 'dog got run over' song is "Shannon" by Michael Gross (first name may not be right).

Oh, the 70's were really good for serious depressing songs. Must have been the fallout from all the drugs that were done in the 60's....definitely an era I would like to forget!

The fashions from the 80s were SOOO much worse than those of the 70s. At least the 70s showed some skin - there were layers upon layers upon layers in the 80s. Shocked

that was the time period that "we" seemed to change lyrics to songs.

We had joy, we had fun
we had seasons in the sun
but the cops had the guns
and shot us in the buns
