Robin's Uncle Jim died the other day.
we spent a good part of the day at his funeral.
WWII vet, Police officer for 40 years
chief of his police department for 15 of those years.
Good good man. Went to police conventions all over the world and collected patches for me kept in constant contact with us about Abby.
His whole department where he worked were pall barers, honor guard and lined the path to his church service and funeral site.
Chief who replaced him escorted his widow all day. Very classy.
All members of his department had a great respect and adoration for Chief Jim.
Bag pipes playing Amazing Grace at the grave site, tears in my eyes every time.
The world paid respects to a good man who served his country and town for most of his life. RIP friend. The world's loss is God's gain.
He truly embodied the "greatest generation"
