Does anyone have any advice on how to get stronger but keep fitness up. For doing weights, working on sites all ive been told is to eat more and get loads of protein, but this doesnt exactly help when im going out for a run. Any tips or advice greatly appreciated

You can get stronger w/o bulking up. Depends on what you want to do. If you're going for the body builder look your running will definitely take a hit. It is possible to be have a strong, well defined upper body and still be a good runner though.

Last winter I used a lot of basic exercises like push ups sit ups and pull ups. They seemed to help maintain a little fitness for my upper body.
