I expect a long appeal process on this. I wouldn't even consider such a thing myself (OW!) but this is just another case of government trying to monitor what people do with their bodies. I'm all for laws like this that ban FORCED genital mutilation a girl/woman doesn't want, but this is another issue altogether. Interesting this only applies to women, not men. What kind of legal justification was used here? Does one even exist?

I am glad for this on behalf of the young girls who are facing mutilation due to cultural/religious beliefs.
But to ban an adult woman from choosing to get herself pierced? That's a little extreme.

The old catch phrase around here for kids who like to pee with the bathroom door open or flash the occasional butt crack is "They're called your privates for a reason!"
