I finally pulled my splits from my watch today while I had some free time at work. I ran okay. Not what I wanted (sub 65), not what i expected (sub 67) I ended up at 68:17. The temperature was perfect. 40 - 45 degrees or so at gun time and maybe low 50's by the time I finished.
Mile - split - total time
1: 7.22.93 - 7.22.93
2. 7.08.83 - 14.31.76
3. 7.07.48 - 21.39.24
5k. .52.19 - 22.31.43
4 6.23.00 - 28.54.43
5. 7.18.80 - 36.13.23
6. 7.24.05 - 43.37.28
10K. 1.46.16 - 45.23.44 (2nd 5K total 22:52)
7. 5.44.30 - 51.07.74
8. 8.02.57 - 59.10.31
9. 6.57.25 - 1:06.07
15K 2.09.71 - 1:08.17 (3rd 5K total 22:54)
I ended up in 609 overall. 90th in my age group!
This now means I need to run a fast race again to get a seeded number next year.
I am mentally doing better this year than last year when I was struggling. I am chalking this one up to still being dead legged from the 50K. My longest run between the 50K and the 15K was only 4.
There is an 8K in about a month that I can use to try and get re-seeded. I just need to break 35. I have broken that 2 years in a row so hopefully I can do it a third time. I might try and work on my speed some over the next couple of weeks and try and get some 6 miles runs in.

The race reserves the first 1000 race numbers. The first 200 go to the elite (aka world class) The next 800 go to people who have run certain qualifying times for certain distances. This allows you to start at the front of the pack. This comes in handy when there are 9000 people in the race and you are at the front of that mass of humanity.
I hope that helps.

Well done, Boiler. Keep focused, and you'll get re-seeded.
