It depends what you're looking for. The Garmin Forerunner 101 is the baby of the bunch and just provides you with basic GPS tracking, no heart rate monitor or footpods. You also can't download your route to the computer afterwards.
The Forerunner 201 and 301 have been replaced by the much better 205 and 305.
The Forerunner 205 and 305 are identical except for the accessories that you can use. The Forerunner 205 is not compatible with a heart rate monitor strap, footpod, or speed/cadence sensor (for bikes). The Forerunner 305 on the other hand is. In all other aspects these heart rate monitors are identical. Both will download GPS routes to your computer and both use the SirfStar III Chipset which is a much more accurate GPS chipset.
