At what point do you seek out further opinions. I am at a point now in my cardiac care, that I am thinking of seeking yet another expert opinion.

If you are questioning your care in anyway, get another opinion don't mess around. You have but 1 heart.

What makes you consider this at this point?

I think I would get a second opinion no matter what. At the onset and at regular intervals, but what determines "regular" I have no clue.

Back in the fall, I had some heart issues. I went to a doctor and he said nothing was wrong.

Now it's 6 months later. I'm having the same issues come back. If I had made the appointments then, I could have seen another doctor by now. But it looks like I may have to wait until they get an opening.

What I'm saying is, go for the second opinion now because by the time you think you need it, you may not have a chance to get it.

DO IT NOW.

I know this has all been really frustrating and I can understand you not wanting to have yet another "expert" tell you dunno like the others, but with something like this, you just have to keep trying until you find someone who has an answer. You know you always have support from the gang, buddy.....

it's the most frustrating thing to be searching for the right treatment and a doctor you can trust. very easy to just settle in but you may be compromising your health by not looking further. search until you feel that comfort and confidence level that you've been missing with your current practitioner. go on. seek someone else's view, and then seek another. we are all our own advocates in this system, no body's looking out for you, believe me. it's in your hands so try as best you can to get other viewpoints; never stop learning.

Well I have been with this cardiologist from since I was diagnosed 2 years ago. I now his intentions are good and that he cares, its just that we feel he may be a little out of his league. I have seen 2 specialist, one local and the top guy for my condition in Minnesota. Both were no real help, and offered little advice.

We found another local guy here in Philly that I am waiting for a call back from.

I think at this point, another set of eyes looking at things may better able to give us some real answers. The current methods are not working

Another opinion is good. Especially for something that is highly specialized or rare.
