In New England its the fall: Football, sweaters, wonderful running weather, crisp days and nights.
In Italy is the spring - flowers flowers everywhere.

Autumn.
The color of it all. Decent temps. Thanksgiving. The smell of burning leaves.
Autumn is one of the reasons we plan to retire in New England. The rest of the seasons we can deal with, too.

Fall...
Let's see....the start of football season.
..the smell of the leaves
..the brisk air
..the smell of popcorn at the local HS football game.
..the kids at school are on their best behavior still.

Fall here, too. The smells, like the leaves and the first fireplaces starting up, and the rain. The sights, like the leaves and the fog and the warmer clothes. Of course the crisp, cooler air and the fall festival are also in there.

late summer, early fall.....um right now!!! I like warm weather.
unfornuately we are having something nasty in bugs, no one seems to know what that are either. Look like gnats, but they don't bite and they are everywhere in swarms. Yuch

Summer: fireflies, longer daylight, no school, my birthday, outdoor swimming, the shore, kickin' rainstorms, camp. Lotsa good stuff in summer.
But second-best is surely autumn. And "autumnal" is one of the best words in English. Goes well with "equinox."

Summer. AKA winter in Houston. Nothing beats 75 degrees, sun and everything in bloom in January, while your friends up north are calling to whine about all the snow that won't go away.... "Listen, I've got to go, my bike ride is about to start...." I like any season that allows me to be outdoors, so that is pretty much year round in h-town.

Spring: racing season is starting, the snow has melted (usually), and it is warm but not too hot. It is the promise of the future.
But Fall has the better movies.

I'm going to choose an option that's not there: ALL
I like all seasons. I'm so glad I live in a climate of changing seasons because just when you're ready for some change, a new season appears. It's great.
Winter-hockey, skating, skiing, Christmas, Winter Solstice
Spring-(we don't get much of a spring up here) but when we do, those warm days that melt the snow and remind you of the good times to come.
Summer-Camping, running, biking, drinking beer on a patio, sitting under the stars around a campfire, etc.. etc...
Fall-crisp cool air, change of colour, Halloween, Thanksgiving....
