I think it works via your mouse. When you find your number, you have a tendency to move your mouse to the symbol you are supposed to think of. I tried a couple of things; it appears to select the symbol over which your mouse lingers longest.

edited: no that's not it. Some mathematical algorithm, but I don't know what it is. The puzzling thing is that you only need 9 trhough 90, so I don't know why 1-8 and 91-99 are available?? Still thinking...

I tried it a number of times, each time keeping my mouse away from the symbols. Only time it doesn't work is when I randomly select a number without doing any calculation. I know there is some kind of trick to it, but not sure what.

I FIGURED IT OUT! fubby

OL got the clue at the same time. I may have inadvertently been Watson and Crick to her Rosalind Franklin.

Sad I guess I am not the brightest boy around here. Anyone care to dumb down the answer so I can grasp it? Embarassed

Your answer will always be a multiple of 9. Wink

And the symbols will be the same for multiples of nine, but they will change every time you click on the crystal ball.

Now do I receive total consciousnes, or what? Wink
