June 5, 2004

It was my 3rd 5K but the first one I ran all the way through. Embarassed I've been doing the C25K since March, just graduated at the end of May. Wink It started out as a cloudy day but when the sun broke through it got pretty humid. Around 10:15 the race began. My first mile was a little slow with everyone trying to get their pace and space. It spread out a little after the first water station.

All of the spectators and runners were wonderful! Everyone was so supportive. I will definately run this race again. (Hopefully with a better time next year). I ended up with a time of 33:57. It was quite a bit better than the 3.5 mile race just last month at 38:11. I had to tape my ankle for this race since I stretched it just a little too far on Tuesday morning. It's feeling much better now. After the hill at the end on Saturday, it was awful! Hopefully the extra time I took off today will help it along and I'll be able to run tomorrow morning. Very Happy

All in all, I wish I had gone a touch faster but I'll work on it. It'll get better. Thanks for all your words of encouragement!!!

Great job! Running on a hurt ankle and in humidity, that's tough. I think your time is very respectable. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi! I ran this, too!

Nice job on the non-stop run - this is a tough race due to the immense crowd of runners. Congrats!

Thanks everyone I appreciate it!!! You made me feel much better about this run. DH kept telling me I did really well, I was just hoping to do a bit better... You're right, there's no place to go but up!!! Mr. Green

runslikeagirl - Congrats on your 5K! Smile It was a tough race with all the people but very energizing with the amount of spectators and cheering going on!

purple hayes - I wasn't really looking for one but DH and my friend Mike had a lot of fun looking. Wink
