The Run for Women was, as always, a very well organized event. The volunteers are fantastic, and the venue for the post-race refreshments can't be beat!
My race, not surprisingly, was lackluster. I ran with a friend, which was nice, though. 5K is not my favorite distance, it's an uphill start, and is VERY crowded as the Albany streets aren't exactly wide. These three things set me up for mental failure every time, and that's exactly what happened.
I got stuck during the first half mile - that mile ended up being a high 12mm. Bleh. I picked it up a little, though, for a 34:19 finish according to my watch.
I did have fun - it was nice to run with my friend, and it was a beautiful morning in the Capital Region. I'm capable of better, though, and have proved it over much longer distances. Oh well. It's a 5K. Next up, the Adirondack Distance Run!

Great job! I also thought it was quite well organized... just a bit crowded. My first mile was around the same time as yours due to the amount of people. I found that at the watering station, people started to distance out a little bit. It's wonderful that you got to run with a friend! Congrats and good luck in your next race!

Nice Job RLAG.
I am not racing again until July 4. I think my body (and my mind) needs the rest

Good job, RLAG! Uphill starts are sucky-poo and 5K is not my favorite distance either. I hear the Adirondack DR is supposed to be a good one.

Great Job RLAG!
You did great with that uphill start! Those are killers for sure! You made it the end and conquered those "mental killers". Get ready for your 10K now! You'll do great!
