.......so.......the other night...I'm at the neighbors 40th b-day party and I hear a conversation about birds......so, of course I butt in.........
anyway a few weeks ago....I'm running along Lake Winnebago and as I get by the lighthouse....I hear a sound (kind of like a slurping sound) then something hits the back of my head. So of course I say "what the f...." and slap at my hair only to backlash a red-wing blackbird that was yanking my hair.......
....so anyway......from this conversation....I found that this is quite common in that vicinity. Although they did say it usually happens in the spring only. So I was told to wear a hat if I run there.....a doc at my table said he actually saw a patient where a bird actually pecked her face.
The fox cities marathon starts by the lighthouse.........bring your hats and sunglasses

"Wiffle bats for sale. Come get your bats... you'll need 'em!"
