but if you have furniture delivered, do you tip the driver? If you do tip, how much?

Thank you.

I'd probably tip if they were good about helping it get in the house. If they drop it on the lawn, forget it. 10 bucks? 20? I dunno?

Let's see...you spend several hundred dollars for the furniture (which is high profit to begin with).

You spend money for the delivery fee.

I would say, no if you paid a delivery fee...

If not, call the store and ask if the allow drivers to accept tips.

I'm having bunk beds delivered on Wednesday. Value city charges $65 for delivery and setup of furniture (too big to put on top of the Jeep, so I have to do delivery). They are less than 2 miles away. Am I tipping the men who deliver and then assemble the furniture? Nope.

Since I'm paranoid, I've usually got the gun loaded and in reach when we have things delivered. My tip would be : DON'T TRY ANYTHING FUNNY.

I'd tip either $10 or $20 per guy, especially if you have rather heavy furniture.

I usually do not unless it was a difficult delivery. In our old house, we had very small doorways that took a lot of muscle to get the stuff around. It took extra time so I gave them a few bucks. Usually 5 a man.

In my new house the doors and halls are so wide that it is an easy delivery. No steps to my front door.

Though thanks Lauri, I never knew about that thanks for the link

I guess I'm lame but I would've never thought of this. We just got a new king bed and we didn't tip the 2 guys that delivered it and set it up. Heck, they were in and out so fast (they were so speedy, took maybe 5 minutes to get it all in and set up!) I would've barely had time to grab my wallet! Wink

Speaking of other tipping things, is there some point where you just give an amount even if it isn't the "correct" percentage??? If you get your hair done every 6 weeks and it's $100 a time, honestly at times it just seems like too much to add another $15 to that. Do I just need to change my outlook? Am I being cheap??? dunno

i don't tip delivery people on a regular basis. i did once when they struggled and struggled moving a sleeper sofa out of a room for me. i thot they were gonna die first. so i did tip them.

now i feel like i'll have to if I EVER GET ANY NEW FURNITURE.

I'm a big hair tipper. Last week I was in the hot seat for four hours, and before I bought products, I spent about $80. Gave Marie a $40 tip. She spent all that time on me, and I figure she could've accomplished about 10 or so haircuts (probably more!) in that time, so I tip what I figure she would have made had I not been there so long (I probably undertipped now that I think about it). I do invest a lot in styling, products, and etc., so it just makes sense to take care of the gal who takes care of me. Marie is my numero uno stylist, particularly where color is concerned. I also hit Starbucks before an appt and grab her one too. Smile

I don't think you're being cheap though. I'm clearly an over-tipper. I think you tip what you can and what you feel their time and effort and outcome of your hair is worth.

You over-tipper you! Making the rest of us look bad! Wink I guess it's hard for me to stomach sometimes because of how often you have to go. And luckily it doesn't take 4 hours to get mine done, wow, you must get sick of that chair!!!! But when you get up to that amount (over $100) just for the service it just seems to be getting overkill to add another $20 on to it (and then do it again in 6 weeks....). And does it matter if they are part owner of the salon, because I think my gal is??? I don't know, the whole thing is just confusing!!!!!

No one who spends that much, that often, on a haircut is cheap. Shocked
